How do I embed a video from a computer on a page in Lessons?

Instructors can add an embedded video to a page in Lessons.

The embedded video described here is a video uploaded from the instructor's computer to the page in Lessons. See How do I embed a YouTube video or other web video on a page in Lessons? for directions on embedding a YouTube video.

We discourage the use of this feature. Uploading a video through this feature counts against your site's data storage quota. The video player also provides a poor user experience.

We recommend uploading videos into your course site's Media Gallery (Kaltura) tool and then embedding the video in a rich text section of a page. Videos uploaded to the Media Gallery tool do not count against your site data storage quota.

Go to Lessons.

Select the Title of the page (e.g., Lessons, Activities, Week: 1) from the Tool Menu in your site.

Embed a video.

To embed a video from a computer on a page,

  1. Select Add Content.
  2. Select Embed content on page.

Select Choose Files to select the video.

Open the video.

Locate the video, and select Open.

Note: The Open button may have a slightly different name, depending on your computer's operating system.

Embed the video.
