How do I enable and use LaTeX in my site?
UVACollab can display LaTeX equations as mathematical notation in most tools. If you enable LaTeX in a tool in your site, equations that site participants write in LaTeX within that tool will be displayed beautifully.
Enable LaTeX in your site as follows.
Go to Site Settings.
Select Site Settings from the Tool Menu in your site.
Edit Site Information.
Select the Edit Site Information tab.
Enable the display of LaTeX math.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Edit Site Information screen to check the box to enable the LaTeX language for the site.
- Click Continue.
Select Finish to confirm enabling LaTeX in your site.
Choose the tools where LaTeX should display.
Next, you need to select the tools that can use LaTeX.
Select Manage Tools.
On the Site Settings page, select the Manage Tools tab.
Check the LaTeX box(es) for the desired tool(s).
In the Selected tools list (to the right-hand side of the screen in Desktop View, or under the tools list in Mobile View), select the checkbox in the LaTeX column for each tool where LaTeX equations should display.
Once you have made all of your tool selections, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Continue.
Enter LaTeX equations in the Rich-Text Editor of a selected tool.
Insert $$ before and after the mathematical formula to set it apart from the rest of the text. When you preview and save your LaTeX expression, it will render as an equation.
