How do I import an individual Gradebook item into Gradebook Classic?
Grades for gradebook items can be imported into Gradebook Classic, either individually as explained in this article, or multiple items contained in a spreadsheet, How do I import an entire spreadsheet into Gradebook Classic? or just the final letter grade to export to SIS, How do I export final grades to SIS (Student Information System)?

Go to Gradebook Classic.
Select the Gradebook Classic tool from the Tool Menu of your site.
Click Import individual gradebook items.
Use this option to create an individual gradebook item in Gradebook Classic.
Upload spreadsheet (csv or xls format) to Loading Dock.
Click the Upload spreadsheet (csv or xls format) to Loading Dock link to browse for and select your import file.
Note: The import file must be in a specific format in order to import correctly. It should be an Excel (xls) or csv file and first column of your file must contain individual student IDs. The first row of your file must contain headings for the columns.
Enter a Title and click Choose File.
- The Title that you enter will be the name of the file in the Loading Dock and not the title of the Gradebook item.
- After entering a title, click Choose File to locate the file you will be uploading.
Locate the file you want to upload.
Locate the file you want to import:
1. Click Choose File if the file is located on your computer OR
2. Attach a copy if the file has been uploaded to Resources.
Continue with upload.
After selecting the file, click the Continue button.
Save the file to the Loading Dock.
Click Save to save the file.
Verify the upload.
The import data will be previewed for you. If everything looks correct, click OK to verify the data. (If you notice any errors, click Back to abort the import process.)
View Confirmation Message.
A confirmation message will appear on the Import Gradebook Item screen once your spreadsheet has been uploaded successfully.
Import the item.
Click Import to add the Gradebook Item.
Preview Imported Data.
Designate the data to be used in the import by clicking the radio button beside the column heading. Once selected, click Import Selected.
Enter Gradebook Item details.
Enter required information such as Title and Gradebook Item Point Value. The item can also be assigned to a Category if they have been created in Gradebook. Click Submit to add the item.
View Confirmation Message.
You'll see a message indicating that the item will be added.
Confirm that the Gradebook Item has been added.
The new item will display in the Gradebook Classic, as shown in the image above.
